Starting October 23, Institute of Numerical Modelling (INM) has begun a weekly seminar series \u2014 INM researchers give presentations, and guests from other institutes, universities, and companies are also invited to report on new developments and achievements. The speakers at the first four seminars were:
1) Mihails \u0160\u010depanskis, CENOS \u2014 \u201cA nuclear power generator for space missions\u201d;
2) \u0122irts Z\u0101\u0123eris, University of Latvia (UL) FST INM \u2014 \u201cNumerical Investigation of Wave Induced Enhancement of Boron Removal in Gas Blowing Silicon Refinement\u201d (pre-defense of doctoral thesis);<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mihails Birjukovs, UL FST INM \u2014 \u201cA partial overview & plan for MHD, building physics and other research directions at the INM Multiphysical Processes Modelling Lab\u201d;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mihails Birjukovs, UL FST INM \u2014 \u201cApplications of methods developed for multiphase MHD to active matter, organ-on-a-chip, magneto-microconvection & cell dynamics systems\u201d (Part 1);<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the next (fifth) seminar (November 20), UL FST INM lead researcher Mihails Birjukovs will deliver the second part of the presentation \u201cApplications of methods developed for multiphase MHD to active matter, organ-on-a-chip, magneto-microconvection & cell dynamics systems.\u201d Meanwhile, during the following seminar (November 27), INM researcher Kirils Surovovs will speak about \u201cApplying LLMs for launching CFD simulations and parameter optimization.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seminars take place every Thursday from 13:00 to 14:30 (up to 1.5 hours), both in person at INM (House of Science, room 520) and remotely via MS Teams. Participation and presentation at the seminars are open \u2014 those interested are asked to contact Mihails Birjukovs (UL email<\/a> or LinkedIn<\/a>), who organizes and leads the seminars, to receive notifications about future seminars, get access the seminar archive, and to register for (on-)offline participation, including presenting a talk. The language of the seminars is English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
